Anyone chasing a God-sized dream knows it’s not an easy path to follow. Here’s some thoughts on what I’ve learned chasing mine and from my morning devotions in Deuteronomy 1:19 that says, “Then, just as the LORD our God commanded us, we left Mount Sinai and traveled through the great and terrifying wilderness, as you yourselves remember, and headed toward the hill country of the Amorites. ”

Do you have a dream bigger than yourself? Do you feel deserted and alone? Do you feel defeated, discouraged and ready to quit, and are there insurmountable obstacles ahead of you? Congratulations, you’re on the right path! Just like Israel, God will lead you through the wilderness to prepare you for the promised land. He will give you everything you need, but nothing more. He will shape your character there for as long as it takes, and the best thing you can do is to submit and allow Him to change your heart. Hang on to your dream, but allow God to shape it into His, removing your selfish ideas from it and turning into a blessing for others. Don’t compare you situation to others, either. You don’t know the wilderness they’ve walked through! And remember that you’re not alone in the wilderness, it’s time to lean into the trusted and safe people around you to make it through.

God is so amazing….leading me to your blog…Yes, I read & was definitely inspired by The Dream Giver. The wilderness verses & story keep coming back to me in some form or another over the past few years. In fact, I am journalling, therefore beginning a series of blog posts, about that right now. Enjoyed listening to your video..I sing on our worship team. God bless you & your efforts!
